Hello fans and blood bowlers and welcome to another edition of the Nuffle Be Praised weekly recap show! The number one recap show for the premiere league in all of blood bowl! Crypt Collinsworth here again to bring you all the action of the week! This special edition recap ends the first week of inter-conference play! Who was better this week the East or the West? Also this week we have a spotlight on the mid-season promotion. Highlighting all the players who have transferred from the development league into the pros! As always we will also bring you the players of the week and the injury report. Let's get down to the action!
Let's start off our first inter-conference game with a battle for first place in the league! As Number one in the Eastern Conference CommieCOZY'S Genetically Engineered Superelf High (GESH) took on Jonny_mal's top ranked squad in the west The Springfield Atoms. In the battle for the top spot in the league The Springfield Atoms narrowly defeated GESH 2 to 1. For a full match recap check out the week four game of the week.
In our battle of the second rank squads DaltMc's #Swole took on Double Pastis' Dark Theory. In a rousing game featuring 2 fatalities to the dark elves both teams left it all on the pitch but neither team was able to break the 1 to 1 stalemate.
The three versus three showdown match up featured Snakbar7's Arctic Underoos taking on Midway_Monster01's Varangian Guard. In a fierce Norse on Norse match up both sides went to war piling up bodies on the sidelines. When the fighting was over The Varangian Guard stood victorious in a 1 to 0 victory.
Our fourth place match up saws Bortbot18's Goth Bondage Party take on Silaninil's World Wide Webz. In this dark elf mirror match The Goth Bondage Party extended their win streak to 2 games picking up the win 2 to 1.
Our fifth round match up was supposed to feature Stimee's Strong Bad's Awesome Team vs Nollix's Aztecs. Unfortunately due to Strong Bad's Awesome Team having a very loose understanding of geography they ended up on the wrong continent for their game and thus were unable to reach the stadium. The Aztecs for their part made the mistake of scheduling the game during lizard mating season and as such their stadium was in no condition to host a game causing the match up to be a draw.
In the battle of the sixes Hezekiah87's The Green Plague did battle with Dymntd's Ol' Angry Ears. The Orcs brutalized the elves on the pitch on the way to the 1 to 0 win.
The Battle of the sevens featured Mariogodzilla's Sticks and Stones take on ChaseJJ's Peasant Brigade. In a high scoring battle that featured nonstop fouling from the Brigade, I mean literally every turn, neither team was able to get the edge leading to a 2 to 2 tie.
Our last match up of the week was the battle of the eights. MrB1129's House Verindath took on Fatmarc4lyfe1's Odin's Finest. Matron Verindath torturing her team for their poor performances must have worked as House Verindath picked up the win 2 to 0.
That does it for the individual match recaps now let's take a look at the division and conference breakdowns to see where the teams place and what lies in store for the second half of the season.
In the Eastern Conference Northern Division #Swole is in the lead with 6 points, followed by The Arctic Underoos with 4, Strong Bad's Awesome Team with 3 and Sticks and Stones with 2. Can #Swole hold onto their lead atop the division or will there be a swing in the second half of the season?
In the Eastern Conference South Division The Goth Bondage Party have taken the top spot with 6 points, followed by GESH with 5 and The Green Plague with 4. Odin's Finest sits at the bottom with 1 point. GESH has been dethroned as the division leader can they reclaim their spot?
Moving on to the Western Conference Northern Division The Springfield Atoms have the most points overall with 7, followed closely by The Varangian Guard at 5. Ol' Angry Ears and House Verindath come in at third and fourth with 2 points each.
In the Western Conference Southern Division Dark Theory has the top spot with 6 points, followed by World Wide Webz in second with 4, Aztecs in third also with 4 points and The Peasant Brigade in fourth place with 1 point.
In the overall Conference standings for the Eastern Conference The Goth Bondage Party has taken the top spot, followed closely by #Swole, with GESH taking third place. The Arctic Underoos, The Green Plague, and Strong Bad's Awesome team are in fourth, fifth and sixth place respectively. Sticks and Stones is in seventh place and Odin's Finest is in eighth. It's still anyone's conference as there is still half a season left to play.
In the Western Conference The Springfield Atoms are in first place, followed by The Varangian Guard and Dark Theory in second and third place. World Wide Webz are the fourth ranked team, followed by The Aztecs, House Verindath, Ol' Angry Ears and finally The Peasant Brigade. The Springfield Atoms are cruising in the drivers seat of first place. Can they stay the course through the second half of the season?
That's all for the division and conference wrap ups I'm going to send it over to John Maddening now with our players of the week and our promotion player roundup!
Hello fans this John Maddening here and I've got a double dose of recap for you with the usual players of the week awards as well as the promotional player roundup! Let's Start off with the players of the week! Remember, the selection is based upon the players' on pitch performances for the week in review. We will choose 3 players. The first 2 choices will be awarded to stand out players in their conference and they will be awarded the “Conference Player of the Week” title. We then select the week's overall stand-out player for “League-wide Player of the Week”. Selection for league wide player of the week disqualifies that player from also winning the “Conference Player of the Week” title. Now with that out of the way lets get to the awards!
Our first award for “Conference Player of the Week” for the Eastern Conference goes to The Green Plague's Galnast Bruis'Smasha. This Black Orc bruiser caused an injury and a death in The Green Plague's victory over Ol' Angry Ears.
Our next award for “Conference Player of the Week” for the Western Conference goes to The Springfield Atom's outstanding Ogre Stampy! Stampy earned the honors by causing 2 key injuries in the Atoms battle for first place against GESH as well as winning the games MVP.
Lastly we award the title of “League-wide player of the week” this week's award goes to #Swole's Bronito Muscelini (no relation to the fascist dictator) Bronito earned the award by killing 2 of Dark Theory's players.
That does it for the player of the week awards now let's move on over to the promotional player round up! As you know in Nuffle Be Praised Pro we offer an innovative mid-season player promotion system that allows teams to bring up one player from their developmental squad onto their pro team to play the second half of the season. Let's take a look at the players that have been called up to the big leagues!
Our first promotion saw a cross coach deal struck as promising young Troll Slayer Lars Skulldrinker was traded from The Koom Valley Sappers to be promoted to #Swole. Skulldrinker is a strong player featuring the heavy hitting of mighty blow as well as the resolve of Stand Firm. To make room for Skulldrinker the under performing Fidel Castbro was traded to the Koom Valley Sappers
Our next promotion saw The Varangian Guard recruit a fresh ulf-werener from their reserve system named Drac Mac Syro. The vicious beast-man earned a reputation in training camp for constant howling and mauling any player that gets in his way, including his own team-mates! Lineman Weath was relegated to the Varangian Reserves to make room for the Ulf-werener.
Ol' Angry Ears took advantage of the promotion week to bring up Witch Elf Lilriean from Slowpitch to replace linelf Telis. A Witch Elf with Block should be a formidable player that should help even the odds for Ol' Angry Ears.
GESH used their promotion to bring up talented thrower 3LF-0024 from their development squad GESP, 0024 is an aerial ace artist with both a Strong Arm and an accurate one. 3LF-009 was moved back down to GESP in exchange.
Strong Bad's Awesome Team used their stockpile of gold to call up Homestar Runner (Chaos Warrior) to replaced the murdered Cheat. This Homestar Runner features Jump up and mighty blow, ready to avenge The Cheat and bring the pain back to Strong Bad's Awesome Team.
Sticks and Stones used their promotion to hire a fresh War-dancer named Othelen from the defenders of Athel Loren, sending Lorroth back down to the minors. Sticks and Stones desperately needed the positional skill to help bolster their depleted roster.
That does it all for the promotional player round up, I'm going to send it over to Howard Co-Hell and the Week 4 injury report!
Hello everyone this is Howard Co-Hell and welcome to another edition of the Nuffle Be Praised Injury Report. This week is a big one chock full of injuries, maimings, and deaths. 8 deaths wow that's a record for Nuffle Be Praised for one week of action! Our mortician will be working overtime on that one. Finally fans before we send you away it's time to award this weeks bloodiest game of the week! It was a tough choice this week as 2 games stood out as exceedingly bloody, Sticks and Stones vs The Peasant Brigade, and The Arctic Underoos vs The Varangian Guard. After careful consideration of the severity of the injuries as well as the brutality of the match in general this week's award from bloodiest game goes to The Arctic Underoos verus The Varangian Guard!
