Inside The NBP Season 3 Week 5

Hello fans and blood bowlers and welcome to this week's edition of Inside The NBP! The most exciting recap show for the blood bowl league Nuffle Be Praised! I'm Crypt Collinsworth and this edition we will cover the second week of inter-divisional intra-conference match ups! Lots of exciting match ups this week! Of course in addition to the match recaps we also have our Players of The Week showcasing the best players in week 5 as well as our injury report, spilling the beans on all the nasty accidents and maladies to befall the brave players of Nuffle Be Praised!

To get the coverage started let's send it over to our own odious orator former three time champion Mr. Ronnie Rott!

Just be thankful that smell-o-vision never caught on.

Excellent intro as always Crypt! You are one underrated, emaciated emcee! Well it's that time again fans, to check in on another action packed week of Nuffle Be Praised Action! This week is our second week of inter-divisional, intra-conference play which featured the top ranked teams taking on the second ranked teams and vice versa with the same for the third and fourth ranked teams in each division! Will this be the week when some teams start to pull away towards a playoff spot? Or will other teams step up and make things interesting?

Let's start off with The top ranked team in Tar and Feather Strong Bad's Awesome Team featuring Herman Menderchuk taking on second place in Deep Dark, Kingdom of The Misfit! After losing a tough match to League-Leading Rats off To You! Last week Strong Bad's Awesome team took the pitch looking to get things back on-track. It was unfortunate for Kingdom of The Misfit that they were the ones who had to play the Awesome Team. As when the smoke cleared, The Awesome Team had won 2 to 0 along with putting a real hurting on Kingdom Of The Misfits bench.

This injury (originally a death) occurred during a Blitz on the very first block of the game.

Next up the top ranked in Deep Dark as well top ranked overall Rats off To Ya!! Took on second place in Tar and Feather, 2 time division winner #Swole! In the classic blood bowl match up of Skaven and Dwarf it was all about positioning and the tackle skill that lead to a back and forth match up. However after Rats off To Ya!! Were able to take the lead, it looked like #Swole was going to score and tie it up. But the decision to stall cost #Swole dearly as a key block on the ball carrier caused the ball to scatter out of bounds and prevent the dwarfs from dying the game, as Rats off To Ya!! won 2 to 1.

The Ball scatters out of bounds as, the risky decision to stall cost #Swole the chance to tie.

Next up the bottom ranked Stinking Geysers took on third place Loki's Toys in a fierce match up. Despite having the armor deficiency, Loki's Toys were able to keep most of their players on the pitch to keep the game close. However an epic dodge and touchdown pass by The Geysers allowed them to take the lead 2 to 1 and win the match.

Despite the fact that they do have a thrower, you don't usually see an aerial assault from an orc team.

In our last clash between Tar and Feather and Deep Dark Division The third ranked STD Pros took on the bottom placed Goth Bondage Party. It's somewhat hard to believe that the two time division winning Goth Bondage Party could have fallen on such hard times but it is true. Things did not get any better this match as they lost 1 to 0 in a tight, defensive struggle.

Now we move onto the Western Conference matches where the Ale and Anarchy division clashed with Salt Works. In the first match up, the second place in the Salt Works Street Fighter Elves took on top ranked Das Slaytanic Wehrmacht. In a match up where the elves had to constantly deal with less than ideal circumstances they kept the pressure on Das Slaytanic Wehrmacht and almost defeated them. However Das Slaytanic Wehrmacht never gave up and were able to pull of the late game tie for a final score of 2 to 2.

Next up the second place in Ale and Anarchy Nekromancies Folly took on the defending season 2 champion Dumpster Diving Lizards. In one of the bloodiest matches in NBP History, The Follys ransacked The Dumpster Diving Lizards removing a total of 9 players from the pitch en-route to their 3 to 1 dominating victory.

In our third match up of the Western Conference the resurgent Underground Bloods Wars took on the struggling Springfield Atoms. The Woes for the Atoms continued as injuries prevented them from putting up a competitive match against Underworld Blood Wars as they lost 3 to 0.

In our final match up of the West the last place The Cure clashed with the third placed Speedy Demons. Both teams have been unable to make a significant impact in season three up to this point. Though it looks like the Speedy Demons might want it a little bit more than The Cure, scoring the games only touchdown and winning 1 to 0.

Now we move on to NBP Europa where the Old World Division matched up once again with the Beheaded Kings to produce some exciting and blood soaked matches!

First up we have the top ranked Pax Romana taking on the second place but climbing Rockport Redbacks. This was a match the Redbacks desperately needed to win to keep them alive in the hunt to win the division. In an exciting back and forth match up Pax Romana was able to use their superior muscle and agile skinks to win the match up 2 to 1 and to cast serious doubts on whether The Redbacks can win the their division.

In the second match up first placed Kiss of Death took on the Orion Magics. The Classic battle between Bash and Agility. This time Bash prevailed as Kiss of Death methodically used positioning and measured decisions to keep the agility in check winning the match up 1 to 0.

Everyone showed up expecting to see beast-men kill elves, I'm not sure they expected the opposite!

Next up we have Let's Go Beserk!! taking on bottom ranked Da wild tings. Both teams have had a tough go of it in Season 3 but neither have shown any signs of giving up as both teams fought with great fire and intensity. Ultimately the Norse Squad were able to prevail winning the match 2 to 0.

In our last match up of the week The Old Orleans Saints 2 took the field against The Dangerous Warriors. Every year it seems one team gets completely overwhelmed with injuries and this season it seems like that team is the Old Orleans Saints 2. They faced another punishing gaming this week as they buried 2 more players en-route to losing 2 to 1 to the Dangerous Warriors.

Talk about exciting and unexpected action! Let's keep this blood bowl party going and send it over to John Maddening and The Players of the Week!

Thank you Ronnie! It's that time of the week fans where we recognize the best players of the week here in Nuffle Be Praised! As you all know we give an award for the best player in each of our three conferences as well as the best player overall from those three players! So let's look at the tape!

Our first award goes out to the best player in the Eastern Conference. While their were many great players in the eastern conference this week the best of them all was Azlor the Stinking Geysers Blitzer with 8 SPP including catching a touchdown pass!

For the award for the player of the week West I don't think there is any doubt that the award goes to Growarg Rugtail from Nekromancies Folly with an impressive 9 SPP from scoring multiple touchdowns in Nekromancies Folly's victory over top ranked defending champion Dumpster Diving Lizards!

Now for the best player in the European Conference we again had a few very solid choices to pick from . Ultimately the award goes to Eric Cartman of the Dangerous Warriors with 6 SPP from 2 touchdowns in Dangerous Warriors Victory!

Finally for the award for player of the league for week 5 goes to Growarg Rugtail! 9 SPP was the most of any player this week without the benefit of an mvp, and indeed anyone who thought Amaris the Cursed was the most skilled Wolf on Nekromancies Folly will have to take a look again!

After Scoring the touchdown Growarg likes to reward himself by chasing his own tail.

That's all from the Players of the Week let's head over to The Injury Report with new correspondent Dead Sabol!

Thank you John Maddening! It's just great to be a part of the team! As you fans know Howard Co-HEll and NBP Management could not come to terms on a renewal of his contract so is no longer a member of Inside The NBP! While there were a few great contenders this week ultimately the award for sheer number of injuries goes to the Nekromanices Folly vs Dumpster Diving Lizards featuring an eye popping 9 injuries to the lizards!

The Folly did in fact have 2 injuries but the power of regeneration is strong with their nekromancer.

It looks a lot worse than it actually is, 9 injuries but only one death and one miss next game with 7 badly hurts.
