Inside The NBP Season 3 Week 6

Hello fans and blood bowlers and welcome to another edition of Inside The NBP! The weekly recap show for Nuffle Be Praised Pro! As always I am your host Crypt Collinsworth, we have another great episode on deck! This week marks the return to division action as we kick off our second set of division games that will take us through the end of the season!

If you've never seen Inside The NBP, let me break down what we have in store. First we have match recaps for all twelve pro games played for week 6! Then we have our Players of The Week, and finally we round it out with our Week 6 Injury Report and coverage of our bloodiest game of the week!

Let's send it over to that corpulent crooner of all things competitive Ronnie Rott with coverage of this weeks' games!

Corpulent Crooner is actually accurate as Ronnie Rott once covered Don Johnson's “Looking for a heart-beat” although sung by Ronnie, the song took on a whole other meaning!

Thanks for that great intro Crypt! I should've known you wouldn't let me forget about the time I thought I could leave the world of Professional Blood Bowl behind for a singing career! But the fans of NBP aren't watching to hear me sing, they are watching to see if their favorite team was able to win their weekly match up or to see if their favorite player is still breathing after the match!

We start our coverage in The Tar and Feather Division of the Eastern Conference where in our first match up The STD Pros took on the Stinking Geysers. Just a few short weeks ago it seemed that Strong Bad's Awesome Team had a lock on the division and the playoff spot. However circumstances have changed and the division is wide open. Knowing that both teams went full tilt for the whole game, with neither team giving an inch. In the end Stinking Geysers were able to edge out the STD Pros and win the match 1 to 0 and with it they keep their post-season hopes alive.

The Geysers were able to take Ebola out on their first turn of the game, which gave them a huge advantage in the rest of the match.

In our other match up of Tar and Feather, in what has become a storied and legendary rivalry, Strong Bad's Awesome Team took on #Swole in the sixth time the 2 teams have met in the three seasons of NBP. The match had huge stakes for both teams, as The Awesome Team was hoping to defeat #Swole and snuff out their post-season chances. While #Swole needs to win out the season to earn their spot in the post season so this match was crucial to them as well. Like the other times these two teams met, it became apparent very quickly that the hate between The Awesome Team and #Swole is very real. At the end of the violent match up it was #Swole who took the win 1 to 0, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Will this be the last time we see #Swole vs Strong Bad's Awesome Team?

It looks like SBAT won't be featuring Herman Menderchuk for week 7. Though the apothecary saved his life, he did leave him with a permanent armor injury.

Sticking with the Eastern Conference next up head over to the Deep Dark Division where in our first match up Loki's Toys took on Kingdom of The Misfit. The story of the Deep Dark Division has been the domination of Rats off to Ya!! With Rats off to Ya!! Comfortably in control of The division, the remaining teams in Deep Dark are fighting for a chance at a wild-card placement. Kingdom of the Misfit are coming off a tough game last week that saw the core of their team leave the pitch due to injury. Though they gave it all they could in the match, missing those skilled players ended up making all the difference as they lost 2 to 0 to Loki's Toys.

In our other match up of Deep Dark, the top ranked in the League Rats off To Ya!! took on the long struggling in season 3 Goth Bondage Party. With Rats off To Ya having locked in their post-season spot and Goth Bondage Party being in the bottom of the division no one expected the two teams to play each other with as much animosity as they did. Goth Bondage Party in partcular seemed less interested with winning the match and more interested with maiming the rats on the pitch. In the end it proved to be a poor strategy as Rats off To Ya!! continued their control of the division winning the match 2 to 0.

Goth Bondage Party enlisted the help of Benoin in their attempt to give Rats off To YA!! Their first loss.

Now let's move on to the Western Conference where we check in on our Ale and Anarchy Division where The Cure took on Nekromancies Folly. The Cure have been struggling this season as they are still looking for their first win. Nekromancies Folly have had a lot more success, but they are still in the shadow of Das Slaytanic Wehrmacht the top ranked Necromantic Team in the division. In a back and forth match up where neither team was able to gain an advantage, the match ended in a 1 to 1 stalemate.

In Ale and Anarchy's other match up, Das Slaytanic Wehrmacht took on The Springfield Atoms. Given that fact that Nekromancies Folly tied in their week 6 match, a victory for Das Slaytanic Wehrmacht would give them so much needed space at the top of the division. The Atoms were determined to play spoiler though, as the managed to injure four players for DSW and keep the match tied 1 to 1. preventing DSW from pulling away in the division.

Next we head over to the Salt Works division of the Western Conference. Where in our first match up The Street Fighter Elves clashed with Underworld: Blood Wars. In the first half of the season The Street Fighter Elves looked to have a great chance at a wild-card spot while Underworld Blood Wars just couldn't get on the right page. Now with only 3 weeks left in the Season the Street Fighter Elves still have a good shot to either win Salt Works or to earn a wild card spot. The real story however, has been the resurgent Underworld Blood Wars who have reasserted themselves as a team that has a potential to take a wild card. Both teams were playing very cautious, hoping to earn the win and avoid any injuries. In the end both teams scored one touchdown leading to the 1 to 1 tie.

In our last match up of the Salt Works Division, The Speedy Demons took on Season 2 defending Champions Dumpster Diving Lizards. After last weeks dismantling at the hands of Nekromancies Folly, Dumpster Diving Lizards were eager to retake the pitch and visit the same level of pain on their opponents, and they did. Causing 6 casualties and blowing out The Speedy Demons 4 to 0.

Lastly we check in with our Europa Conference where first up in the Old World Division Da wild tings took on Orion Magics. The Story of The Old World has been all Pax Romana as they have been on top of the division for much of Season 3. Don't count out The Orion Magics just yet, as the Woodies have put together some impressive victories despite dealing with some injury issues this season. Even though Da wild tings were able injury The Magics star War Dancer, they couldn't deal with the woodies superior agility and movement losing 2 to 1.

A turn 16 interception by The Orion Magics turned the game from a 1 to 1 tie to a 2 to 1 victory for The Magics.

In our other match up of the Old World, Dangerous Warriors took on Pax Romana. Its been a tough season for Dangerous Warriors, as they have been competitive in every game they've played this year but have been unable to put together all their skills into a winning record. Pax Romana has not had that problem, as they've sat comfortably on top of the division for much of the season. This match up was no different as Pax Romana took the victory 2 to 1 to maintain their control of the division.

Pax Romana underestimates no team, as they paid for the services of Hemlock to help them against The Dangerous Warriors.

Finally we check in with The Beheaded Kings Division, where in our first match top ranked Kiss of Death took on the Old Orleans Saints 2. Casualties have no been kind to Old Orleans Saints 2 this season. They've buried more players this year they any other team. In fact it has gotten so bad that they can't even buy liability and burial insurance anymore. Surprisingly despite going up against a Chaos Squad they only suffered one casualty in the match. Kiss of Death has never been known as a a heavy hitting team though, as they've always won their matches with superior positioning and strategy and this match was no different as they were able to neutralize the agility and movement advantages of Old Orleans Saints 2 to win the match 2 to 1.

In our last match up of the week Let's Go Beserk!!!! took on The Rockport Redbacks. The Redbacks story this season has been a tale of two teams. One team effortlessly dispatches their opponents with 2 to 0 victories. The Other Rockport Redbacks have struggled against elite competition in the division, keeping them out of the top spot. Let's Go Beserk!!!! Have been much more consistent this year, unfortunately it has consistently been in the bottom of the division along side The Old Orleans Saints 2. It looks like for this match True Rockport Redbacks showed up as they dispatched Lets Go Beserk!!!! 2 to 0 to keep them in the hunt for the wild card.
